Robin Williams - The Astrology of His Death
On September 4th, Joan Rivers died at the age of 81, following serious complications (including cardiac arrest) during a procedure on her vocal chords which should not have resulted in her death.
As always, it's vital to start out with an understanding of the natal chart. This shows a person's basic character, their drives and motivations.
The birth details that are publicly available for Joan Rivers are:
June 8th, 1933, at 2.00pm in Brooklyn Heights.
Joan Rivers has a fascinating astrology chart that shows how accurately astrology can describe someone's talents and gifts.
With Aries rising, she wanted to be the first, to make an impact and to do something new. With her Sun in Gemini in the 3rd house along with Venus and Mercury, this is the perfect stellium of planets for someone in the communications field. This couldn't be better for someone who was a reporter, writer, speaker, teacher, networker, producer, tv host, promoter and negotiator.
It is interesting that her Mercury and Venus in Gemini are at 29 degrees, the very last degree of the sign, and also known as the anaretic degree. This is a very powerful placement and indicates that she has spent many lifetimes working on her communication, writing, and speaking skills. This lifetime she has come to do something special with these talents. This particular degree of Gemini is also known as the Aries point which is significant because she was a pioneer in her field and she paved the way for people like Roseanne Barr and Ellen De Generes.
With the Moon in Sagittarius in the 9th house, this is the natural comic of the zodiac and the Moon near the top of a chart often indicates a career in the public eye. The fact that it's in Sagittarius shows the strong possibility of an international career and with Capricorn on the midheaven, she had specific goals that she wanted to achieve.
With three planets in Virgo in the 6th house, she was very critical but also very hard working. Mars and Jupiter are conjunct in that 6th house, so she had lots of energy and was always analyzing everything and then had to talk about it. The Jupiter and Mars conjunction are at the apex of a T square so they are exceptionally powerful and would indicate her often acerbic tongue.
She had a very special ability to bring humor into difficult situations. And with Uranus in the first house, she knew that she was different and she didn't care what other people thought of her. She was going to do it her way and no one was going to tell her what to do.
With Saturn in the 11th house, ruler of her midheaven, this indicates that she had a strong need to give back and she devoted much of her time to philanthropy.
The aspects at the time of death show that the transiting Sun was conjunct natal Neptune in the 6th house of health and transiting Neptune was exactly opposite natal Neptune. This can indicate her light (the Sun), going to a different plane (Neptune). The Neptune influence would also have created confusion as to the cause of the complications and death from what should have been a relatively uncomplicated procedure. There was an investigation as to the cause of her death.
Transiting Mars and Saturn were in the 8th house of death and transformation, with transiting Saturn square to natal Saturn which is a difficult aspect. Added to that was the quincunx between transiting Uranus and her Mars conjunct Jupiter in the 6th house. Mars would be indicative of surgery and Uranus showing something unexpected.
Her astrology chart is perfect example of a life that was lived to the potentials and talents shown by the planets and their aspects.
Sending blessings and prayers during this time to her daughter, Melissa, and to her family and friends.
Best wishes,
Bracha
