Salt Scrub Recipes
From the Isabella Newsletter, "Coming Home"
Remember those invigorating salt scrubs we used to carry? Nothing can jump-start a day more than vigorously massaging yourself with an exfoliating salt scrub in the morning shower, and nothing can leave your skin more smooth and polished. The good news is that whipping up a jar of aromatic salt scrub is easier than scrambling eggs. Here's what you do:
Ingredients:
Almond oil, Grapefruit essential oil, Lemon and/or Tangerine essential oil, Lavender essential oil, Coarse sea salt.
Combine the almond oil and essential oils in a glass jar and shake vigorously to disperse the oils. Don't worry about how many drops to use. Just use what smells good to you. I went heavy on the grapefruit oil, lighter on the other citrus oils, and lighter still on the lavender. Then, add coarse sea salt and stir until you get the kind of texture you like - some people like more oil than others. You can adjust the ingredients at any time by adding more essential oils, salt, or almond oil.
Scrubs like these last up to six months if covered and stored in a dark glass container. Please note that this is a very stimulating treatment and should not be used by individuals with sensitive or inflamed skin.
Have fun trying out different essential oils. Grapefruit is a an excellent choice, though, because its uplifting fragrance has been known to induce a feeling of euphoria. And couldn't we all use a little more euphoria in our lives?
