Looking for Love - The Magic of Herbs and Oils
By Sherry Sims
Herbs can be used to draw or attract things we want into our lives. One of the things that occurs when using herbs in this way is the shift that happens within our aura as a result of using the herbal mixture. Then it is our aura that becomes the magnet which pulls or attracts that which we desire into our life.
Herbs can be burned, like incense, but they can also be made into amulets, or used in oils to wear on the body, added to a ritual bath, or rubbed on a candle.
Try making your own herbal love mixture by selecting herbs and oils from the following list:
Rose, lavender, patchouli, musk, orris root, cinnamon, marjoram, bergamot, jasmine, violet, rosemary, periwinkle and carnation.
One example of an herbal mixture that you could create to attract love would be to take a handful of dried red or pink rose petals. Crush them up in a bowl with your hand or with a mortar and pestle.
To that add some cinnamon to spice things up. Now sprinkle in a few drops of lavender oil, rose oil, and patchouli oil. If you have some orris root, I highly suggest adding some to the mixture.
Remember to use the oils sparingly because a little goes a long way.
Since you are creating your own special mixture, you might want to smell the oils individually before adding them to see it they feel right to add to your personal mixture. You may find that you want to add more rose oil and less lavender oil, etc. Always go by what feels right.
While you are doing all of this, try to remain focused on that your "intent" is. Think about what is is that you intend to draw to yourself.
Open up your heart and pour love into the mixture you are creating and mixing with your hands.
When you are finished creating the mixture you can empower it even more by holding your hands over it or putting your hands around the container that you are mixing it in while saying a prayer or stating your intention for what purpose you want for the mixture to have.
Continue doing that until you feel as if your intention has gone into the mixture. A nice "please" and "thank you" is always appropriate here.
You can now use this mixture as an incense or you can place it into a tiny red or pink cloth bag to make an amulet which you can carry in your pocket.
Better yet, place it on a string or cord that you can put around your neck. Make sure the cord is the right length to let the amulet dangle over your heart area.
You can wear it under your clothing. That way no one has to know about it, although they will most likely smell the sweet fragrances emitting from it.
And don't be too surprised if others begin to find you extremely fascinating. Works like a charm.
